Our Goal is to raise $2,500 for him which although is small in comparison to what his medical expenses will be, we hope to set a standard of compassion and action. As part of their 25th Anniversary Season, Jazz at Lincoln Center launches a new tradition, producing for the first time a swing dance concert in The Allen Room. Backdropped by the finest and most romantic view in New York City, hip revelers will launch into 2013 with help from The Harlem Renaissance Orchestra, whose stated mission over its two-decade run has been to “keep the spirit of big band swing music alive and thriving” by animating the classic big band charts of Count Basie, Lionel Hampton, Earl ‘Fatha’ Hines, Duke Ellington, and Benny Goodman.

Includes two sets of live music, open bar, food, party favors, champagne toast, and the best view in NYC.

Swing Remix Dance Party with Tin Pan Blues Band

Swing Remix Dance Party

Saturday March 10 2011 (8:30pm - 1am*)
Basic Ballroom 335 West 35th St (8th/9th Ave)
Featuring Tin Pan

Join us for our first time featuring Tin Pan. Led by Singer & Song writer Jesse Selengut, Tin Pan connotes a world from the past – the most dominant and enlightened strains of American music of the early part of the 20th century – jazz, blues and American popular song. But it would be a mistake to say that Tin Pan is fixed in that past. Rather, it is music created to be enjoyed profoundly and joyously in the present.

"Although they’ve been winning awards left and right and receiving accolades from music legends like Willie Nelson since 2007, the Blue Vipers have the kind of stuff that stardom is defined by. The group’s percolating soup of swing, New Orleans jazz, vintage jazz, and country is not only timeless but actually revolutionary in a sense; to a younger generation this will be seen as new, freshly scrubbed.”
